Manners

Seth still does a good deal of screaming and saying "no" these days. However, he is the master of "thank you" and it just melts my heart every time. This morning was my favorite. Usually he says thank you when we give him something or let him do something, such as "Thank you daddy peanut butter sandwich" or "Thank you mommy Veggie Tales" (current favorite show), but this morning I told him I couldn't play trucks yet because I needed to clean the kitchen. Once I was done and walked out of the kitchen he says to me "Thank you mommy cleaning kitchen." What a sweet boy! Then later this morning when I was pushing Seth home from the library in his stroller he turns around to me and says, "Thank you mommy library! Thank you mommy truck book!"

#2

We are so happy to share that we are expecting baby Haskin #2 in August!

We are really excited to welcome another child into our family and think that Seth will be a great big brother. When we showed Seth the ultrasound picture and told him about the baby in mommy's tummy he said "Open it? Wanna see baby?" :) Sometimes he asks to see my belly and says "baby tummy."  He's also taken extra interest in taking care of his baby doll and loves to talk about and see his friends' baby brothers. When the baby is born, Seth will be a few months shy of 3 years old. I am looking forward to having my little helper around, and while I'm sure Seth will still be a lot of work, at least I won't feel like I have 2 babies at the same time (we've already started potty training and are hopeful that he'll be independent by the time the baby comes).

For the most part, I haven't felt as sick during this pregnancy. It has been nice to stay home and pace myself rather than get up and rush off to work like I did when I was pregnant with Seth. I've still had daily nausea throughout different periods of the day and HAVE to eat every 2 hours, but miraculously I haven't vomited even once (sorry TMI). I've been super tired and hope that my energy picks up a little now that I'm in the 2nd trimester, but Stephen does all he can to help me get extra sleep and Seth still takes a long afternoon nap so I count myself lucky.

It'll still be another 6-10 weeks before we find out the gender. Although this baby is definitely real to me, I am excited to start brainstorming names and feeling him/her move!
