Not dead

How does anyone have anything to blog about or any time to do it? Life has gotten really busy for us lately. Highlights:

-Steve got called back for an interview at the Provo Police Department for a summer internship in the records department
-If that doesn't work out I ran into a friend from high school who might be able to suggest him for another Provo City internship
-We STILL haven't heard from BYU about grad school and we haven't received an official letter from George Washington (I think they're finalizing the touches on a full-tuition scholarship + room and board :))
-Valentines: Steve made me an AMAZING book with pictures of some of our favorite/most significant places in Provo (i.e, where we got engaged) narrated like a children's picture book. We enjoyed delicious hamburgers and cherry pie, then watched IQ.
-I actually worked on my thesis this week!
-I found out that public schools don't pay much for speech therapists but the benefits are great (paying $0 for health insurance sounds pretty good to me compared to what we pay for school insurance)
-We read Freckle Juice for our reading group at the State Hospital. It's real funny and real short. I also recommend The Chocolate Touch and next week we're probably reading The Great Brain, as recommended by the librarian and my brother. They're all about the ridiculous things little boys do.
-Tomorrow we are going to a Catholic Mass (ironically instead of Stake Conference) for Steve's world religions class
-Steve is mentioned in the acknowledgments of this book for helping out as part of his job on campus. He doesn't think it's that amazing but I do... My name certainly isn't published in a book.

Wow, our lives are boring, but at least you know we're not dead.

The tale of our plant

For our 1st anniversary (about 7 months ago), Steve got me this beautiful plant. Soon after acquiring said plant, it had an accident and we were pretty sure it was dead. After removing the obviously dead parts we had a few stalks left. However, some tiny white worms decided that it'd be good to kill the majority of what was left. Thanks to our good sister-in-law and our own caretaking skills, the plant lives on! It probably doesn't look that impressive in this picture, but the lone 2 plants sprout new leaves everyday and we think it's awesome that they've survivied this long.

MormonMessages

Yesterday I found out the LDS Church has a channel on YouTube. This story about 2 young boys is priceless. It really brings home the principle of doing good for others.
